Viking FK’s sporting director shares insights on Salvesen’s transfer to Derby County, highlighting the player’s impact and emotions about leaving.
Stavanger: So, Erik Nevland, the sporting director at Viking FK, just talked about Lars-Jorgen Salvesen’s move to Derby County. Salvesen signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Rams. He’s their first signing of the January transfer window.
Nevland praised Salvesen, saying he’s been a fantastic ambassador for the club. He believes this deal is great for everyone involved. Salvesen, on the other hand, shared how tough it was to leave after two seasons.
He mentioned feeling a big lump in his throat during his farewell dinner. It was hard for him to say goodbye to the team he loved. He made lifelong friends there.
Salvesen expressed gratitude for his time at Viking. He and his partner really enjoyed living in Stavanger. Leaving was a bittersweet moment for them. He plans to keep following Viking FK in the future.
