Cardiff: A chilly weekend is on the way for the UK. A huge 268-mile snow belt is coming after Storm Éowyn. It’s expected to blanket parts of Wales, the Midlands, and Yorkshire on January 26.

The snow will stretch from North Devon to Holderness in Yorkshire. So, if you’re in those areas, brace yourself for some serious snow. Morning commutes could be a mess with all that snow falling.

Northern Wales, northwest England, and Northern Ireland will also feel the impact. The weather maps are looking pretty grim, to say the least.

And if that’s not enough, Storm Éowyn is set to hit on Friday and Saturday. Winds could reach up to 90mph, which is no joke. The Met Office has issued amber and yellow warnings, so everyone should be prepared.

Mike Silverstone from the Met Office warned about the strong winds and disruptions expected. Storm Éowyn will sweep through Northern Ireland early Friday, then move northeast across Scotland.

The strongest winds will likely hit Northern Ireland, southern and central Scotland, and northern England. Some areas could see gusts over 80mph, which could cause major issues.

Travel plans might be affected, so keep an eye on updates. Roads, railways, and even ferries could face cancellations.

Thursday will start off frosty and foggy, but it should brighten up for a bit. Then, a wet and windy front will move in, followed by some showers.

There’s even a chance of tornadoes in southern Britain. So, stay safe and keep warm out there!
