Sheffield: A magical woodland walk in the Peak District is getting some well-deserved attention. This January, it was named one of the best walks in the UK.

Padley Gorge, located on the eastern side of the National Park, snagged the fourth spot on the list. It shares this honor with Thetford Forest in Suffolk.

Experts from GO Outdoors put together the list by checking out Google reviews, Instagram posts, and search data. Padley Gorge has a fantastic 4.8 rating on Google, with over 1,500 reviews and tons of Instagram love.

This enchanting spot is just a 90-minute drive from Greater Manchester. It features beautiful waterfalls, gentle streams, and those twisty trees that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook.

The area is filled with ancient oak and birch trees, and Burbage Brook flows right through it. You can cross the brook on wooden bridges and stepping stones, adding to the charm.

Another great walk near Greater Manchester is Macclesfield Forest in Cheshire, which also made the top ten. It’s got loads of trails winding through the tall trees, especially lovely on a crisp winter day.

Hampshire’s New Forest took the top spot, followed by the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, and Tollymore Forest in Northern Ireland came in third. The UK is full of amazing woodland walks!
