A new Irish bar is set to open in Derby, creating an exciting ‘Irish triangle’ with existing venues and promising a vibrant nightlife.
Derby: A new Irish bar is coming to town! The owner of a popular Irish pub is super excited about this. Molly Malone’s is set to open in the old Revolution bar spot. This could create a fun “Irish triangle” in the city.
The venue has been empty for a while, but now it’s getting a fresh start. Molly Malone’s already has a great reputation in Sheffield. They draw in crowds on weekends, thanks to their classic Irish vibe.
David Henning, the owner, is buzzing about the new location. He’s been traveling back and forth to get everything ready. They plan to hire around 40 people, which is awesome for the local job market.
Marc O’Dwyer, who revived the O’Dwyers name in Derby, thinks this is fantastic news. He believes it shows how lively Derby is becoming again. He’s thrilled about having another Irish venue in the city.
Marc said, “The addition of Molly’s, along with O’Dwyers and the Derby Irish Centre, creates a unique draw for the community.” It’s a great time to celebrate Derby’s Irish spirit.
O’Dwyers is also launching an Irish fish and chip shop soon. Marc is excited about the special offerings for the Irish community. It’s shaping up to be a great year for Derby’s Irish venues.
Martin Langsdale, chair of Derby’s Cathedral Quarter Improvement District, believes the new bar will be a big boost for the city. He’s looking forward to the opening of the Becketwell Live venue too.
David Henning shared that they wanted to expand but stay close to Sheffield. The former Revolution building is a perfect fit for Molly’s. Derby has a lot to offer, especially with its large university.
They’ll start recruiting soon, and anyone interested can reach out via email. David and his team are excited about the potential in Derby. They’ve spent time in the city and see a bright future ahead.
