Residents in Telford are fuming over plans for a bizarrely shaped housing estate that they believe resembles a penis, raising concerns about green space loss.
The proposed site is on a former coal mine, and it’s supposed to have 250 homes. But about 85% of locals are against it. One resident, Antony, called the shape “absurd.”
Jane, another local, is worried about losing green space. She said, “It’s yet another area of green being bulldozed for houses.” People love walking their dogs there, and it’s home to wildlife.
The plans include a cycle and pedestrian route, plus parking. But many residents feel it’s not enough. They want to keep their green spaces.
The planning documents mention that the area is used by kids and dog walkers. It’s one of the last green spots in Lawley.
Louise, a resident, is doing her best to stop the development. She’s worried about the impact on local wildlife.
The council says they want to provide affordable housing. But locals are skeptical. They just want to protect their community and green areas.
